Join a glassblowing class in London at Gather, a working hot-glass studio known for its bold colour, contemporary design, and focus on traditional craft skills.

This beginner glassblowing workshop is a unique opportunity to work in a real furnace environment and learn how glass objects are made from start to finish. Guided by professional glassmakers, you will gather molten glass from the furnace at over 1000°C, shape it using traditional tools, and blow it into a functional vessel.

Unlike short taster sessions, this full-day glassblowing course gives you time to develop control, explore colour, and make considered design choices. You will create at least two handmade pieces — such as a tumbler, small vase, or carafe — choosing your own forms and colour combinations.

What you’ll learn

  • How to safely gather glass from a large professional furnace
  • How to shape and blow a vessel
  • How colour is applied in hot glass
  • How professional glass studios work as a team

Who this class is for

  • Complete beginners
  • Design and craft enthusiasts
  • Couples and individuals looking for a hands-on creative experience in London
