Handblown in our working glassblowing studio in Woolwich, London, each Miami Ice Cream Coupe is made in two separate parts, assembled while hot at the bench.
The bowl begins with opaque coloured glass in rose, lilac, orange, or soft blue, gathered over in clear molten glass before being free-blown into a wide open coupe shape. The shallow form requires careful control while hot and is one of the more technically demanding shapes produced in our hot shop.
The stem is built by hand using individual gathers of molten glass, before a contrasting blown foot is added beneath for balance and stability.
After annealing overnight, the rim is cold-worked and polished by hand to refine the finish.
The result is a durable handblown coupe designed for ice cream, cocktails, and everyday entertaining.
