FAQs

⭐ Private Experience FAQs

What will we make during our private glassblowing workshop?

Private workshops are most commonly booked as bauble-making or tumbler-making experiences, although we can often tailor the session to suit your group. If you have something specific in mind, please get in touch to discuss the possibilities.

Is this a private workshop just for our group?

Yes. Your booking is exclusive to your group, allowing you to enjoy a more personal glassblowing experience with dedicated guidance from our team.

Do I need any previous glassblowing experience?

No. Private workshops are suitable for complete beginners. Our experienced glassmakers will guide you through every stage of the process.

Will everyone get to work with molten glass?

Yes. Every participant will have the opportunity to work directly with molten glass under the supervision of our instructors.

Can we choose the colours of our glass?

Yes. Participants can choose from a selection of colours available on the day, allowing everyone to create something unique.

Can we celebrate a special occasion during the workshop?

Absolutely. Private workshops are often booked for birthdays, anniversaries, family celebrations, hen parties, and other special occasions.

Can food and drinks be included?

In some cases, yes. We can discuss options for drinks, snacks, or recommendations for nearby catering and hospitality. Please email us before booking to discuss your requirements.

Can the workshop be tailored to our group?

Often, yes. Depending on the size of your group and the type of experience you're looking for, we may be able to adapt elements of the workshop. Contact us to discuss your ideas.

When will our glass be ready?

Your pieces need to cool slowly overnight in the annealer before they can be handled safely.

Can we collect our glass or have it delivered?

Both options are available. You can collect your finished pieces from the studio or arrange delivery to your home or workplace.

♿ Accessibility

Is your studio wheelchair accessible? Can you accommodate people with limited mobility?

Our studio has two small steps (12 cm and 10 cm) at the front entrance, but step-free access is available via the rear of the building. Please contact us before your visit so we can make sure the route is clear and ready.

Some of our experiences, such as bauble blowing, can be adapted for people with different mobility levels. However, our tumbler, half-day, and full-day classes currently require standing and movement that make them unsuitable for wheelchair users.

We’re committed to making glassblowing as accessible as possible and are always happy to discuss individual needs or make reasonable adjustments where we can.

Email us at info@gather.glass to talk through options.

Is there a minimum age for glassblowing classes?

Because participants work close to hot equipment and molten glass, most classes are suitable for ages 16+. Some workshops may have different age requirements, which will be listed on the individual class page.
