Best Glassware 2025: Gather wins Livingetc Style Award
We're proud to share that our Sicily Vase in Green has been named Best Glassware in the Livingetc Style Awards 2025.
The Sicily vase is handblown at Gather's working production studio in Woolwich, South East London - a fully operational furnace glassblowing studio where hand blown glassware is made daily by a team of experienced makers.
The vase is part of the Sicily Collection, a series of handblown glass vases and colourful glass vases that take their cue from the symbol of Sicily, the Trinacria.
This piece features a series of wiggly, hand-pulled handles that echo the Medusa-like motif - each one joined to the body individually, one at a time. The exaggerated belly shape is formed by blowing bold colour into the glass at the furnace: the colour is structural, not applied, making it integral to the material itself.
The result is a colourful glass vase that is also a piece of handmade craft, produced in a working glassware production studio in the UK.
