Phoebe Stubbs founded Gather in 2020 after twenty years working in glass. She trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and her craft traces a direct lineage through some of the most important glassmakers of the last century - a rare thing in a field where that kind of knowledge is passed hand to hand. Her work is driven by a single conviction: that colour is structural to design, not decorative.

Gather has had a permanent glassblowing studio in Woolwich since 2023, built to combine production, public workshops and long-term training under one roof. Phoebe's work has produced tableware, decorative objects and lighting for clients including Fortnum & Mason and Paul Smith. She is currently a QEST Scholar, funding further training in chandelier-making and large-scale glass - a craft, she says, she's wanted to learn since she was a teenager.
