Handblown in our working glassblowing studio in Woolwich, London, each Miami Medium Jug begins with a bright, generous piece of coloured glass on the blowing iron. The colour is shaped, then cased in clear molten glass.
Two full gathers from the furnace give the jug its weight and presence before the form is blown into a mould for a clean, balanced profile.
The piece is then transferred to the punty, where the mouth is opened hot and finished with a contrasting lip wrap as the rim is formed.
A spout is pulled while hot, and a colourful handle is applied by hand to balance the jug in use. Every jug is finished with our Gather stamp on the base - an everyday piece with confident colour and a clear, durable structure.
