A sculptural handblown glass vase inspired by classical Venetian design and ancient Grecian influences. The Chania Vase brings together historic references with bold form, creating a striking centrepiece for the home.

The Lapis blue glass is reminiscent of the deep, vibrant sea around Chania in Crete. Each piece is formed by blowing rich colour into an exaggerated silhouette, before solid worked glass handles, stem, and a blown foot are individually applied and shaped by hand in our London hot glass studio.

Designed as a statement glass vase for flowers or display, it carries a sense of history while remaining distinctly contemporary.

Product FAQ's

🏺 Glass Vases

What are your glass vases designed for?

Holding fresh or dried flowers, or displayed alone as a piece in their own right. Handblown to a stable base and form that holds its shape whether empty or full.

Can they hold water?

Yes, they're designed to hold water for fresh flowers.

Are they sold individually or as sets?

Individually - each vase is designed to stand alone.

☀️ What is the inspiration behind the Chania Collection?

The Chania Collection is inspired by a blend of classical Venetian glass traditions and ancient Mediterranean influences, reinterpreted through a modern lens.

Each piece is handblown in our London studio, using deep blue tones and bold, sculptural forms that reference the sea and light around Crete. The result is a statement vase that feels rooted in history, but designed for contemporary interiors, striking on its own or styled with flowers.

Is every piece exactly the same?

No. Because each item is handmade, slight variations in shape, size, colour, and pattern are part of the process and make every piece unique.

Why is handmade glassware different from mass-produced glass?

Each piece is individually made by skilled glassblowers using traditional techniques and molten glass. This creates unique objects with natural variation, rather than identical factory-produced items.

💡 Good to Know

Why is handmade glassware more expensive than mass-produced glass?

Chania Vase - How it’s made

Handblown in our working glassblowing studio in Woolwich, London, each Chania Vase is shaped from molten glass gathered directly from the furnace.

Inspired by classical Venetian forms and ancient Grecian glassware, the body is blown and refined by hand into an exaggerated silhouette with strong vertical proportions.

Solid worked glass handles, stem, and a blown foot are individually applied and shaped by hand at the bench, giving each vase subtle variations and a sculptural character.

Each piece is shaped through a collaborative process involving skilled glassmakers working between furnace and bench within our live production studio.

The result is a durable handblown glass vase designed for flowers, display, and statement arrangements in the home.
