💡 Good to Know

Why is handmade glassware more expensive than mass-produced glass?

Sicily Vase - How it’s made

Handblown in our working glassblowing studio in Woolwich, London, each Sicily Vase is shaped from vibrant molten glass gathered directly from the furnace.

The body is blown and refined by hand to create the vase’s exaggerated rounded belly and narrow neck, establishing its sculptural silhouette while the glass remains hot and fluid.

Each wiggled handle is individually shaped and applied by hand at the bench, wrapping around the form and creating subtle variations from piece to piece.

Inspired by the Trinacria symbol of Sicily and the intensity of Mediterranean colour, the vase combines expressive form with everyday functionality as both a floral vessel and sculptural object.

The result is a durable handblown glass vase with bold colour, playful detail, and a strong handmade character.
